Set All Joints Visible, Maya, Python

This is a short simple script that will iterate through a skeleton and set all joints to visible.  This is particularly useful if you are using the ART rig by Epic.


  1. #This sets all joints in a hierarchy to visible
  2. def setAllJointsVisible():
  3. jointSelection = = True)
  4. selectionList = cmds.listRelatives(jointSelection, allDescendents = True, type = 'joint')
  5. selectionList.append(jointSelection[0])
  6. for eachJoint in selectionList:
  7. cmds.setAttr(str(eachJoint) + '.visibility' , True)
